Qu. for parents of shy kids?

My daughter is 4. She has been really shy since she was 1. She does not like anyone she doesn't know. There is some friends of ours that she has known for 3 yrs that she hates. They are more then nice to her, but she doesn't know them well. She is only ok with people she knows well. Family and the such. She does seem to do better with women then men. We put her in a preschool to help with this before she starts school next yr. It went very well. There were moments but for the most part she has adapted well, and made friends with her teachers. There is a new teacher that started a few months ago. He is nice. I've met him. He's not her teacher but will sometimes relieve her teacher for lunch and watch the cl for about 30 mins to an hr. She has started having problems. She HATES when he comes in her cl and starts crying. She swears he has been nothing but nice to her but "I don't like him b/c I don't know him" That's what she told me. I have tried everything I know. Any ideas?

Can anyone help me to identify expected sound development in the Russian language? An American SLP?

A friend visiting the USA has asked me about how help for her four year old granddaughter. We need to know what sounds would be developing and what kind of errors would be developmental.

Where should i go vacation?

It is kind of last minute....I want to go somewhere for this weekend (labor day) within driving distance of NJ. Any suggestions of good vacation towns where everything isn't booked? (somewhere along the lines of Martha's Vineyard, Outer Banks, etc.)

Which U.S. Presidential inauguration is the first one you remember?

I was aware of President Johnson's inauguration following President Kennedy's ination, but only a few images on the TV, I was very young. The first inauguration I remember clearly was President Nixon in 1969; I was so innocent then, I couldn't imagine what would happen later on.

hes not quite over his ex... :/ theyve been broken up for about 2 months? maybe a bit longer? he told her that and she hasnt said anything yet. They are both my friends. Shes not nice to him AT ALL and never has time for him. Hes not sure if he wants to be hurt again so he doesnt know what he wants exactly. Also, she flirts a lot with another guy. I really like this guy! I just got out of a relationship (ended April 13th...it would have been 2 years tomorrow. Im 17 btw) but I really like him. Today we were flirting non stop. We hung out a lot (our school was having a lock in, a lot of people went but I had to go) and we held hands, he touched my lol and we laughed a lot! Idk what to think! He was kinda like this with my other friend though too.....hes kinda a flirty person ...haha this sounds so dumb but how can i "get him" to like me. or have him realize im special and different

How much store credit would i get at eb games for a ps2 slim and 8 games?

i am thinking of trading in a ps2 slim, 2 controllers (1 of them cordless), 2 8gb memory cards and 8 games (fifa 10, v8 supercars 3, f1 2005, afl premiship 2005, TMNT, cricket 07, tony hawks american waist land and buzz ace racers in a buzz bundle. want to now how much store credit i would get for eb games that i could put to wards a ps3 or xbox 360. (dont bother telling me to sell on ebay or at other places i just want to no the value for eb games)

Times are rough, especially for organizations that have to depend on monetary kindness of others. Have you dropped your charities in these hard times or do you still find room to donate money, even if it is a little less?
