NEED OPINIONS PLEASE! Boyfriend's job and relationship!?

Without the gory details... my boyfriend has been without a job for about a month, yes, times are getting very, very hard and he doesn't have any good job leads. His previous job told him they would hire him back for a good wage, and he wants to take it because he's running scared and has bills to pay. They have screwed him over and made many, many, many promises to him in the past, and ultimately left him in the cold and basically let him go. It caused problems for a year between us, his family, his children, with the entire situation. He's meeting with them today about this new job opportunity and I know as well as he does, he's going to accept the position. Knowing this has caused the rest of his entire life to suffer and well as giving him horrible stress and treating him like crap. I told him he was stupid and that I guess everyone has a price for their soul....should he take the job? I know the job market is crappy, but the job caused horrible damage and nothing good came of it...opinions?!
