Best theory about why atheists spend so much time in R&S when they supposedly hate religios talk?

It seems odd to hear to them complain about "bible t fundies shoving religion down our throats" and so on, and yet here they are again and again, as though somehow compelled to listen to more. The absurdity seems almost profound, so what explains this?
